Promoting Restorative Justice in South Africa's Correctional Services CCR's Prisons Transformation Project (PTP) hosted a one-day seminar on 6 October 2005. Participants were drawn from the SA Department of Correctional Services (DCS), key stakeholders involved in the justice field and ex-offenders who participated in restorative justice programmes while serving their sentence. The themes in this report emanate from the presentations and discussions from the seminar and provide insight into the discourse on restorative justice, with particular focus on the complexities of implementing restorative justice in a post-sentencing environment. National Human Rights Institutions, Conflict Management and Peacebuilding in Africa (Technical Seminar Report) This technical seminar, held from 29 November to 3 December 2004 in Cape Town, examined the role and mandate of national human rights institutions and the context in which they operate from a conflict resolution perspective, and familiarised delegates with approaches and frameworks from conflict resolution and peacebuilding that relate to human rights.
