Public Dialogue SeminarsCCR's 90-minute public dialogue seminars, held largely in Cape Town, are an open and neutral platform to discuss topical issues on governance, peacekeeping, peacemaking and security. The seminars encourage a diversity of opinions and have involved Members of Parliament; leaders of civil society; academics; students and interested members of the public. The meetings serve as an opportunity for public education and participation in the work of CCR and are advertised in the Cape Times, the University of Cape Town's Monday Paper and on CCR's website. All public dialogue seminars are free and open to the public. Policy SeminarsThe Africa Programme has established itself as one of the strongest such programmes on the continent and witnessed a period of unparalleled success. Through its Policy Development and Research Project (PDR), CCR convenes policy advisory group meetings in Africa with about 20-25 participants. CCR also organises policy seminars with about 60 participants, which focus on PDR's research areas:
Ongoing research on these topics continues for the four-year duration of the Africa Programme from 2008 to 2012. |
